Reason behind slow spread of nCoV in asia
Deficiency of specific protein which is common in USA and Europe than Asia, could explain why nCoV is not spreading faster in Asia. A team of scientists from National Institute of Biomedical genomics in kalyani,west Bengal, have found a biological reason for slower spread of mutant coronavirus in Asia compared to west. Team has explained how higher levels of human protein-neutrophil elastase, which helps virus to enter human cell, multiply and also spread faster from infected individuals. NEUTROPHIL ELASATE: Neutrophil elastase is serine protease, a major constituent of lung elastolytic activity. It potentially stimulates mucous secretion and induce CXCL6(Protein coding gene) release from epithelial cells.
